Re-Discover Cabo San Lucas

Re-Discover Cabo San Lucas    by Gail Woloz

It is true – I have been to Cabo San Lucas many times and each time I visit, there is something to re-discover! On my most recent visit, I was fortunate to stay for 3 nights at the hottest property on the sand – Capella Pedregal – and what a delightful experience it was!!! From the moment I emerged from a 1,000-foot private tunnel and witnessed the azure sky and sea, I knew this was a perfect location!

The 5-star Capella Pedregal is located on 24 beachfront acres at the southernmost tip of Mexico’s Baja Peninsula and near the legendary rock formations known as Land’s End. It is 35 minutes from Los Cabos International Airport and Cabo San Lucas is walking distance from the resort.

All guest rooms have a private plunge pool and ocean views and range from 600 square feet to 4,000 square feet. For families I found this resort to be exceptional – especially for those with small children! There were many families enjoying the beautiful pools surrounding the resort, but especially at one end where there are casitas and villas up to 4 bedrooms. An incredible property for a multi-generational vacation or for several families to share one villa.

The beach at Capella Pedgregal is gorgeous and it was so fun to be here during whale watching season. In every guestroom are binoculars to watch whales as they frolic right before my eyes; and there were many! What a great experience!

The food and ambiance at the restaurants was fabulous! But, if you prefer to cook in your villa or have a chef cook for you – that can also be arranged. Room service is also 24/7. The villas can all be stocked for you prior to your arrival. I even noticed that one family had a large BBQ set-up for them to enjoy with their kids. The villas with the plunge pools on the ground floor were ideal for families so the kids could run between | the pool and the sand and the other larger pools as well.

Besides fun in the sun, Capella has other activities to offer. What I thought was a very fun idea was to offer cooking classes designed based on your interests. So why not have a cooking class for the kids? Activities nearby include boating, snorkeling, parasailing, golfing, jet-skis, diving, fishing, incredible dining, shopping and much more! And - the Capella Pedregal spa – ahhhhh!!! One of the best I have experienced as well. There is also an amazing 24/7 fitness center.

Another “re-discover” of Cabo is the new Casa Dorada Los Cabo Resort which is located right on Medano Beach in the heart of Cabo San Lucas. This property has all Jr. and 1-2 bedroom suites. It is a great value in a location that is hard to beat if you want to be in the action. There is a kids program starting at age 4, a children’s pool and non-stop fun at the large pools that surround the rooms. I highly recommend this resort for those of you with older children who like ocean swimming.

The tried and true in Cabo are still there – One & Only Palmilla; Las Ventanas and Esperanza among others. All fabulous deluxe properties, but there are more resorts to come and re-discover! Cabo is a happening place and a quick 2.5 hours from LAX with still some pretty good airfares! To get the best and latest promotions on all resorts in Cabo, be sure to get in touch with me and re-discover Cabo all over again or for the first time
