Escape to Luxury - The Resort at Pelican Hill by Gail Woloz
Are you looking for a luxurious escape for a weekend or a week? A place that is close to home and a drive away, yet far enough way that you feel removed? Somewhere that has spectacular accommodations with ocean views? Great food, fabulous kids program, amazing spa and home to two award winning Fazio golf courses?
Look no further than Pelican Hill! I recently was escorted through this incredible resort just down the coast from Los Angeles in Newport Beach. Where fun, sun, surf and exceptional service will meet all expectations – although it exceeded mine!
The accommodations include guest rooms, suites and 2, 3 & 4 bedroom villas. As many know, it is hard impressing me with the next best resort, but walking through a guest room and a villa here at Pelican Hill had my senses ignited. Single storied guest rooms are 847 square feet and connect so nicely for families. All with beautiful terraces and ocean views. The villas are in their own private enclave within the Resort with every detail considered for your comfort. The villas are perfect for family gatherings that may include grandma and grandpa so everyone is under one roof.
Although I am not a golfer, I have many friends who do golf and I’m told that the golf at Pelican Hill is one of the finest. Of course, I am not surprised since it just goes hand in hand with the rest of the resort! However, I AM a spa-goer and am very particular about my spa experience. I promise that you will not be disappointed with The Spa at Pelican Hill. Around every turn, I was just amazed at the attention to detail from the comfort to the size of facilities to the aromas. Everything was there for the taking!
So, what about the kids? Welcome to Camp Pelican where kids can enjoy a resort vacation of their own. Kids have their own clubhouse with bean bags, big screen HDTV’s, video games, karaoke and iPod accessories, digital microscopes and complete computer stations. A multitude of art and craft supplies, board games, books, etc. Kids have their own pool, umbrellas and chaise lounges just their size! Bubble jet fountains and 2 sand play areas. There is a shaded and heated, if necessary, patio with foosball and ping pong.
The Kids Club will have special guests and activities and movie nights. The Kid’s Club is for children ages 4-12 and the resort offers half and full day programs. And, if you have teens there is a terrific teen program as well.
And what about the beach? Crystal Cove Beach is a shuttle service from the resort lobby. The beach experience provides a beach bag with towels, sunscreen, water and beach toys. An attendant at the beach will provide full-service chair and umbrella set-up. But, if you are pool person – then you are in store for a real treat – The Coliseum Pool! The pool is in a perfect circle and 136 feet in diameter with luxuriously furnished cabanas providing top-notch poolside service.
Dining at Pelican Hill is truly a culinary experience! There are several restaurants to choose from whether it be a casual meal or fine dining – you cannot go wrong! Dining is either indoor our outdoors on the heated terrace with panoramic ocean views. Villas have full kitchens which are fantastic for cooking with a view then serving a meal on the expansive patio.
The Resort at Pelican Hill is truly one of my top 10 resorts to visit. If you’re looking for someplace special to bring your family together, I would not hesitate for a moment to consider this resort gem so close to home – The Resort at Pelican Hill. (Be sure to contact me for special added amenities I receive for my clients).
